Written by the Wachowski Brothers,The Matrix movies weave an incredible tale of deceit and daring. Machines have taken over the planet, using humans as an energy source. However, the people who populate the Matrix continue with their daily routines, blissfully unaware that their entire world is a simulated computer programme.
Rescued by the enigmatic Morpheus, the young hacker, Neo, is given this life-changing choice: "This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes."
Swallowing the blue pill will let Neo keep control over his story, but his story will have no basis in truth. The red pill will throw Neo headfirst into a frightening collision with reality. To continue with this allegory: you, the reader, now have a choice. You can stop reading this blog, return to the comfortable world of sermons, Bible studies and fellowship in the foyer. Back to business as usual; don't rock the boat; and for God's sake, never ask your leaders tricky questions.
